First encounter with Singapore !

Singapore!!!! Just 5 hours from my very own Mumbai. It is one of the world's busiest ports, a business hub and a super developed economy. The government here runs like a corporate company and have tons of $$$ reserves. Sounds lot different but it works and works very well!

Ok! First thing you notice about this place is cleanliness. It’s one of the cleanest cities in the world. You won’t even find fallen leaves of trees on road...too much nah!!! I am still trying to get used to this ultra cleanliness ;-)

But you know its lot like our very own Mumbai. Same whether, same zeal, same enthu, same speed, same good people and junk food but lot not-so-same things those gives it “Developed” tag. ummmm here is my simple formula -

Clean Mumbai 10 times a day (Wake up BMC)
+
Charge hefty fines for littering, crossing roads without walking signal and other “trivial” things we feel chalta hai....at least Rs. 1000 fine!!! (Here BMC will surely wake up :)
+
Reduce the corruption by 10 times (Not just BMC, we all need to take care of this)
+
Ask all to wear shorts :) (I feel all here are born in shorts, except office time, people are in shorts. Age, gender, place no bar.)

It’s not that Mumbai is lesser in any aspect. Only think lacks there is discipline and law enforcement and of course the corruption. I love Mumbai a lot lot and that’s why wanna see it to be like Singapore coz we have it all to make it happen and we have it ample.

It’s kinda Indians running the country. Almost all bankers are Indians, majority IT people are Indians and same goes with the worker class. Tamil is one of the official languages here. Apart from Indians, all you see are “chinkis” - Singaporeans, Chinese, Malaysian, Philippines, and Thai. Till now I haven’t understood how to differentiate so using the word "chinkis". People here are very helpful same like appun ki Mumbai junta. They will ensure you are properly guided and you are not lost in the city. Anyways it's rare as every bus stop and MRTs(train stations)have got route maps posted.

What I liked here the most is No-Honking (have heard it just ones in last 10 days) and no lane changing....traffic is smooth even in rush hours and no noise...pedestrians are given the highest priority. Most important the "pehle aap" culture in traffic….amazing. All wanna give side/way to others…believe me its true!!! Last but not the least, all public transports are air-conditioned. Thanda Thanda Cool Cool.

Ok ab basss for now…Well will be shifting with a Chinese family next week and key down the new experience along with the lovely experience with Merwana Family :)

Hushhh…I am tired….noodles please :-)
